About Us
New Hope began in 1998 as a dream to Malva Thomas in developing a place of hope for parents and children who were struggling with education in academics. Since our humble beginning, New Hope has grown and become a premier resource in delivering hands-on application to life-issues, counseling center, and afterschool care for struggling families. Located in the heart of Miramar, Florida, New Hope offers programs that not only modify behavior, but one that seeks to offer a unique, transformative journey through relational experiences that offers counseling, small group therapy, academics, activities, referrals, and a safe haven for children and families of all ages. New Hope caters to the needs of the family and sees each family as unique creation from God. New Hope creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere that offers hope to the hopeless, help to the discouraged, and new life to those who fear theirs would soon be lost. The love of a committed staff dedicated to excellence can be experienced on every level of interaction. Parents, teachers, and volunteers are an integral part of the New Hope experience. Their involvement through phone calls, participation at retreats/events, and commitment to complete a program, all work together for a promising life changing experience
About Founder:
When I started out in education over 20 years ago, I could never have predicted a
“small idea” of helping kids would one day become a haven of hope and a place of
healing for countless families in our community including my own. I say proudly
that New Hope Economic Development Inc., is dedicated to excellence, committed
to results, and fully structured around the family. Things happen, people change,
but one thing have remained constant is the love, care and the vision God gave me
for helping people. My own family struggles have propelled me more to offer
patience, unwavering love, and forgiveness in helping others. It’s the reason my
staff and I have been able to serve so many families and seen such dramatic
turnarounds.
Our programs are uniquely designed, remarkably effective, and our staff is
incredibly passionate about our mission—meeting the needs of the people in our
community and providing an atmosphere of learning and encouragement in order
to increase and maintain self-worth, self-efficacy and family values.
